This week brings us to the one year mark of deputation. It has been so exciting to reflect on how God has proved Himself faithful through the last year. I can recall being very nervous about what the future would hold as Lindsey and I made the decision to quit my full-time job with benefits and not renew a lease on our apartment with only $550 per month of promised support. I remember the Lord using my life verse, Matthew 6:33, to confirm that, although we couldn’t see how He would provide, He would take care of all of our needs if we would simply follow His leading.
Since this time God has brought our support to around 35%, provided for every need we have had while traveling, kept us safe for over 50,000 miles of driving, provide us with a used (like-new) minivan, and has given us the opportunity to meet so many wonderful believers in churches all over the East Coast, and just a few weeks ago we moved into a wonderful parsonage in Haverhill, MA in which we will be able to live while finishing deputation and working with Lifeline Baptist Church in preparation for planting our first church in inner-city Boston. God has been so good to us!
Just last month I had the opportunity to do some door-to-door visitation in one of the housing projects in inner-city Boston. This was an exciting, eye-opening experience for me. In just a few hours we met people from places like the Dominican Republic, Somalia, Ghana, Guayana, and many other places around the world. It was sobering to see how spiritually blinded these people were, but it was exciting to see how open they were to the gospel. This experience gave us an even greater desire to get to Boston and begin the work of planting churches in these spiritually blinded communities.
We ask that you would continue to pray for our safety as we travel, for more churches to take us on for support, for us to be a help and a blessing to the churches in which we get the privilege to minister, for more laborers in the needy harvest field of Boston, and ultimately that the Lord would begin working in the lives of the people of Boston so that souls could be saved and lives changed in that needy mission field of inner-city Boston.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support! If we can be a help to you or your church in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us
