Dear Praying Friends,
I apologize for how long it has been since our last letter. The last couple of months have been filled with excitement (and busyness) for our family and ministry.
The Lord is building His church in Lawrence, MA! That should not come as a surprise to us as He has promised us that He would build His church, but I never cease to be amazed at how He choose to do it. It is truly humbling to have the opportunity to serve our Lord and be used in starting Community Baptist Church.
In our last letter, I told you about a young lady named Emmanuela who was saved on January 1st. Emmanuela has been growing in her walk with the Lord and is being discipled by one of the ladies in our church (Abi Baker). This Sunday, I will have the privilege of baptizing Emmanuela. Please pray for her and Abi as they continue in discipleship.
When we knew the Lord wanted us to start Community Baptist, we began to pray for God to send families who would be a help in this ministry. There were several families that we identified, and felt would be a good fit for this ministry. Several of these families came from Lifeline Baptist Church in Haverhill, where I trained for two years in preparation for our work in Lawrence. One of the families for whom we prayed was the Irwin family.
We never said anything to them about coming and assisting us. If God wanted them to be a part of our church, He would do the work in their hearts, we wouldn’t have to say anything. Shortly after starting to hold services at Community we stopped praying that the Lord would send the Irwins to help in our ministry. We assumed that the answer to our prayers was “no”. Although we stopped praying about whether God wanted the Irwins to assist in our ministry, the Irwins did not. Several months ago, they approached me and Pastor DiGiacomo, and informed us that they had been praying about coming and helping Community for some time and believed it was what God wanted them to do. I am so thankful for the support of Pastor DiGiacomo and his church. The Irwin’s first Sunday was in February. They have already been an encouragement and help in our ministry.
Our attendance over the last couple of months has increased not only because of the Irwin family, but because several people who had not attended because of COVID concerns, have come back to church. It has been so wonderful to have them back with us again!
There is one other way in which our ministry is growing. We found out several weeks ago that Lindsey is pregnant! Lindsey and I are so thankful for the Lord’s blessing our family with another child and the kids are very excited too. Lindsey’s due date is September 29. Please pray for a healthy pregnancy and baby.
Thank again for your faithful prayers and support for our ministry!
Thank you for the updated letter I have shared it with many others. Congratulations on the news of another little one coming to your family. Will put her on my prayer list and pray as I pray for all the pregnant ladies that I know about. Blessings and hugs
