Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We are so excited about how the Lord continues to provide. We have just reached 22% of our needed support and have a full schedule through December. Would you please continue to pray for safety as we travel and for wisdom as we present our ministry in churches, that the Lord might work in the hearts of the churches we are in, to support the ministry to which He has called us?
The month of June was very eventful for us. We had the privilege to attend our first Family Fellowship Week as with World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions at Valley Baptist Church in Edinburg, VA. The meeting was a wonderful time of refreshment and enjoying fellowship with other World Wide missionaries and pastors.
It was on the final night of Family Fellowship Week that I received a call that both my parent’s and grandparent’s homes had been flooded in the WV flash floods. At that point my grandfather had already been trapped on top of the counters in their kitchen for several hours and my family had lost contact with him. It wasn’t until early the next morning that we heard that my grandfather had been rescued from his home after spending over 11 hours trapped on his countertops. I would like to thank those of you who follow us on social media and prayed for my grandfather’s safety. We are so thankful that the Lord protected my grandfather during this very scary time.
The following week I traveled to West Virginia to help my parents and grandparents with cleaning out their homes as both of them were a complete loss. While I was there in West Virginia, I also had the opportunity to team up with several local churches in the area to help with the relief effort and in presenting the gospel to those who had lost all of their earthly belongings. We also were able to help in raising over $4,000 for Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle, WV (one of our supporting churches) as their pastor’s home was destroyed and they had significant damage to their auditorium. Please continue to pray for them as they work to minister to the people in their area who lost so much as they try to rebuild for themselves.
Last month I traveled around to some area churches to meet pastors in the area where we had a meeting. One of the churches I dropped in at was having a work day and I had the privilege of joining them in cutting some trees and hauling branches. This was a great ministry opportunity as we are rarely at our sending church and unable to be involved in these kinds of ministries and I must admit, I miss being able to participate in church work days and visitation programs. So, we have decided to make ourselves available to the churches in the areas in which we have meetings. For the month of July we will be in the Tidewater area of Virginia, and in August we will be in West Virginia. If you are a pastor in one of these areas and have planned a work day, a special outreach activity, or just need someone to make visits with or to clean the church, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We would love to be a blessing and help to you and your church in any way we can.
