It has been amazing to watch the Lord work in the lives of the people to whom He’s called us to minister. In our last update we asked you to be praying for a couple with whom Lindsey and I were doing an evangelistic Bible study. Several weeks ago, they both trusted Christ as their Savior! Please pray for their growth as they are being discipled by some of the folks in our church.
Last week a lady who has been attending our services regular for the last 7-8 months trust Christ. She was a life-long Catholic who never really had much, if any, interaction with the Bible or the gospel. We had been praying for her salvation and I had been meeting with her regularly to answer the many questions she had about the gospel. Please pray for her as she is being discipled. We are excited about the hunger she has for the Word of God and growth in her Christian life.
A few weeks ago in a counseling session, it became clear that a man who has been attending our church for some time, had some misunderstandings about the gospel and was unsaved. After working through the gospel with Him, he realized that in reality, he had been depending on his works for salvation and he needed to depend on the finished work of Christ. We praise the Lord he also has come to know Christ! Please pray for his continued growth.
Over the last month or so, we have seen more first-time visitors than at any time in our ministry some have returned others have not. Please pray as we follow up on these visitors that we would have opportunities to share the gospel with them.
It is awesome to watch the Lord do the work of building His church. He is the one who has done the work. We are just grateful for the opportunity to participate in and watch the work He is doing.
In church planting there are ups and downs. There are seasons of harvesting (we are in the midst of one of those times now) but there are also season of sowing. Sometimes the seasons of sowing can be difficult. It involves a lot of work with few visible results. These times can be difficult and filled with challenges. In those times we are reminded that the Lord requires faithfulness in His stewards. In the times of harvesting, the challenges still abound, but the visible results are exciting and encouraging. We know that the Lord is at work building His church as He promised in both seasons and He is the one who ultimately does the work. Therefore, we praise Him in the times of sowing and reaping. He is the Lord of the harvest. He is the one giving the increase and we are nothing. We hope that you will join us in praising the Lord of the harvest for His goodness to allow us to be involved in His work.
Please continue to pray for several with whom we are in conversations about their need for Christ. We pray that they will come to Christ soon.
