October Prayer Letter

Dear Praying Friends,

The last month and a half has been an exciting time in our ministry. We broke our last attendance record of 26 with 32 people attending one of our Sunday services. This was just for an average Sunday service without any kind of special promotion. Since then, our average attendance has gone from 15-18 to 24-26 people attending each week.

Please pray for some who have been faithfully attending our service and still have not yet accepted Christ. We have about 4 people who fit in this category.

Just this past Saturday, we had a young man drop by the church in the afternoon while I was preparing for Sunday services. We sat down in my office and talked for about an hour. At the end of our conversation, Abdoulaye accepted Christ. He has been faithfully attending our services ever since and is trying to get his work schedule changed so that he can come to our Wednesday night service. I have started a discipleship program with him on Saturdays. Please pray for Abdoulaye as he grows in his relationship with the Lord.

The other two people that we have seen saved since we have started Community are still being discipled. It has been exciting to watch them grow. Please continue to pray for Tyler and Ericka and for Lindsey and I as we disciple them.

Many of you know that this past summer we intended to hold an evangelistic event on the common here in Lawrence. We had a number of groups planning to come and assist. However, because of the pandemic, the event was canceled and all but one group had to cancel their plans as well.

I am excited to announce that we have secured dates to set up a tent on the city common for evangelistic services again this year. The dates for this event are August 4-7, 2021.

In conjunction with this event, our mission board is organizing a missions team to come and assist in this effort. The dates for this trip are August 2-8, 2021. If you are 15-35 years old and would be interested in being a part of this team, go to seetheharvest.com for more information.

If your church is interested in organizing a missions trip for the summer of 2021, now is the time to begin planning. We still have almost 10,000 information packets for our church that need to be passed out as well as additional promotional materials for the tent meeting in August which will need to be distributed in the weeks leading up to the meeting. If your church has an interest in being a help with this or in some other way such as organizing a team to hold a vacation bible school or organizing a work crew, this is something that we can work out as well, but we would need to start planning now.
